well Friday I woke and did a few more layers of wax on the church hallway.
Then while talking to DH and discussing getting our son to my DD's for the week I said it would make more sense if I took him Friday so we didn't have to hurry to get him there on Sat. in time for Worlds of Fun, a place with rides, roller coasters, etc.... So hurried and got some things done and off we went, just DS and I.
Visited with DD and family, seen the farmhouse they'll be moving in to. They are in a nice area now that has "rules" to which they can't have the trailor out in the driveway. Some of the neighbors have complained about little things. One has a big camper in their yard but DD can't have a trailor? So they found a farmhouse for the same price. They'll be moving in during the month of Aug. They are there now doing things around there to clean it up. The owner said they'd give them 7,500 to fix the place up. They even bought two horses already!!
We get up and make it to Worlds of Fun. My neice and her son met us there. DS and I went on our first two rides with them and we were heading to meet DD and family so I could go on a ride with DD and GD before I left for the ride home (3 hr drive) Welllll as we were standing in line for a ride the power went out , we look around and it wasn't just for that ride but the ENTIRE place was out of power!! There were people stuck on the top of ride  That was a good time for me to leave.
Made it home and picked up a bit in DS room and then just SAT! I was so tired and wanted to head to bed early and then got a second wind. Now it's almost midnight so I'm heading to bed.
Cally where did you post a picture of you? I read a post someone made about it but I can'g find it. OK time to go to bed.
Carol and Kat HA!! I bet I have you beat with my DH!!! He had the radio in the garage so loud and keeps it on, you can hear it in the house! I was in the bathroom wondering what that sound was and it was the garage radio!!

Karen, glad to see you were in such a good positive mood today. Keep on smiling! :D
I can't believe this is my first check-in of the day. It's been a busy day. Noah was here until late afternoon. We went to my mother's this morning so they could spend some time with Noah, too. People went into a late night shopping frenzy on ebay after I went to bed and I sold 8 items -- over $200. So I spent today listing new items trying to replace those so I can keep my numbers up.
Michele never came over today as expected so B was bummed. Particularly since I accidentally stepped on her toe earlier today -- one she already had torn a hangnail from a couple of days ago. I hope it's not broken, but it's definitely pussie and swollen. I had her soak it extra long and I applied antibiotic ointment. I hope it looks better tomorrow. I felt so bad about it. I hope it's not broken.
Tara, is Mankato the town where the Engles were always going on Little House on the Prairie?
Cate, do you live in the city or out in the country?
Kat, how much hair did you get cut off? I think I need another haircut. I've been trying to trim it myself and it's totally uneven.
Carol, I don't think you'll get any real peace until your DH gets well. And I hope it's soon before all your patience goes out the window.
Well, I'm going to kick back and watch some TV and hopefully fall asleep. I opened the windows and turned off the AC hoping to get some nice cool air. It's 68 now headed down to 62, I think. It's about 11 p.m.
Good night, Everyone!

A quick hello to all ;)
It's wonderful outside this AM, cool breeze and yes overcast, but not 90++ thank heavens.
Work, last evening, was one of the unhappier times in L&D. Fetal Loss is hard on parents and when it's a dreamed and prayed for pregnancy............ it just really hurts. We had pastoral care come in for the patient and family, and this was the first time anyone has asked how the nurses are doing. Working for a hospital with a mission of healing and religous backing is very different. I can tell you that it helpped me deal with everything much quicker, and not resort to coming home and bingeing to help release my unhappy thoughts. The pastor also told me that she saw a very strong women inside me after we spoke. It is such a very foregin thought for myself, that I have difficulty believing its true.
Sorry I guess not such a quick hello, but anyway I woke up with positive thinking and happiness in my heart this AM. I hope you all have a great day. Give yourself a hug and remember we are working toward that goal of happiness and healthiness. What can we do today to get one step closer to that goal?
:D :D :D

Tara, what's in Mankato? My brother and his wife lived there for a few years, but I don't remember much about it, except that it had some lovely older residential areas. *** I hope that you can enjoy your month off, although I imagine you'll be continuing the exercise in frustration that is job hunting.
Lyn, I'm jealous! What with construction, we didn't get anything planted except 2 lonely tomatoes in a half barrel, that are just starting to bloom :( Last year we planted 4 different kinds of potatoes, as well as tomatoes, swiss chard, kohlrabi, pole beans, & basil - fun! And such a luxury to have armfuls of basil, instead of paying $2.50 for a little baggie of leaves.
We are having fun with fruit. We had a bumper crop of apricots (yum!), good currants, a little bit of rhubarb from a new planting, and the pears are getting red and ready to pick.
Carol & Kat, you make me happy that I'm not married! Somehow it doesn't matter as much when my sister is grumpy, it's easier to tune her out. Here's hoping both your DH's feel better, & are more considerate
Summer is slowly doing better. She still will not sit, but at least she can now lay down without having to do a controlled sideways fall. Turns out her groomer had a new assistant, who was way too vigorous with the metal slicker brush  and left her with abrasions/scratches all over. Her groomer feels horrible about it. He's paying all our vet bills (thank heavens), and sounds like he fired the assistant. Although we did not ask that, and it wasn't in any way intentional, just lack of experience/training/common sense. Poor Summer.
Waves to everyone else :)

You two are up early on the west coast. i finally slept through to 7 AM here. Been waking up with noises, cats?, kids? at 4 AM this week. Now officially on vacation and fully unemployed for a month. Driving to Mankato tomorrow @ 5:30 AM. Takes 4 hours to get there. Then will drive back late the same day. Have a friend going with me. My DH can sleep through anything. So rest today. Yeah! tara

Carol - Oooh, we're married to the same guy. My DH does that a lot.
Cate - How is Summer? Were those clipper burns on her backside? Poor kid.
It's overcast and cool this morning. Simon is chasing leaves from my ficus and dirt clods from its pot. He's the only one in a good mood besides me. DH woke early and went to his study, waking me. Now, he's eating breakfast but sneezing and complaining of a headache and upset stomach. Sigh. It could be a long day (weekend).
I have cat duty around 8am and a haircut at 9 (Yay!). Beyond that, no plans anymore - everything depends on how DH feels, as always. I would be happy with a quiet few hours in my studio.
Have a good one.

Good morning ladies,
Gee my night was a bit rocky, DH is sleeping downstairs and I in bed but voices woke me up at 1:00am....yup the TV DOWNSTAIRS was that loud! :( Stumbled down the stairs and said (not nicely) turn it down....and he was sound asleep. I am sure the neighbors were up listening to infomericals that's how loud he had it. Idiot :( :( :(
Feel wacky this morning, had trouble getting back to sleep and sure hope my coffee kicks in really fast.
Today: gym for sure; drugstore; grocery store and that's all that is planned at this moment. Maybe I could just throw a big antibacterial drape over DH....ya think?
Will pop back later
