Is this the final leg of all your remodeling?I wish - this is Phase 2 of 4. Phase 3 is the outside work (rebuilding the deck, ramp, and entryway), and Phase 4 is the kitchen. Where are the cats during all the commotion? How are the dogs handling it?The poor cats..... the 4 upstairs cats are fine, they just go outside for the day. My 2 timid downstairs cats spend the day huddled under my bed, listening to the banging and being terrified. Spook can go outside (but usually doesn't want to). I can't let Shadow out because she will sneak back in when the door is open and hide in the construction area. The guys are doing wall construction, and they're scared they will wall her in somewhere :eek:

The Poodle From Hell is doing well. We put a gate up across the entry to the living room so she can't bite the guys :rolleyes: She's actually doing better these days. She's gone from attacking our greyhound 4-6 times a day to just once every couple days :) I honestly never thought I would see this much improvement.

The day's getting crazy again - gotta go.

Ran to the Church and cleaned about an hour. Then home and made a spreadsheet for our taxes, we're having ours done Saturday. DH grilled chicken, I made salads. Then upstairs to watch Greys and make a Sympathy card.

Didn't get any exercises in today.

Lyn, when I saw you were going south, I figured Gulf Shores was where you'd be headed. Hope you have a good relaxing trip. Are you driving? If so, I hope you enjoy all the pretty scenery. :cool:

Tammy, B is a good artist and has sketch pads and colored pencils, crayons and markers. I prefer she use the pencils. Markers are a problem... she writes all over herself and other things. She makes a mess out of clay or playdough. She loves sidewalk chalk. You should see the lovely St. Patrick's Day message and leprechan she drew in the driveway a few days ago. :D

Busy day at work and I tried to count the shots I gave today, but I know I missed writing a few down. But I did mark down 66 shots. Got home and my legs were swollen with 3+ edema and fluid retention. B gave me a nice foot massage. She loves doing that! I never even requested it. She just tells me to get into my recliner -- goes and gets the lotion -- and tells me I need a foot massage. Can't argue with that. :p

I parked my car in the driveway tonight hoping some of the rain storms might help wash my car overnight. It really needs a wash and the only cheap one in town is on the other side of town. :rolleyes: I'll try to get there sometime over the weekend.

Worked on my taxes a bit today. Need to find my ones from last year. Also need to get some auction listings done tonight. Gosh, I'm so tired. Sold a good Vera Bradley bag for $48.50 --- it was one of the 3 bags I got for a total of $10. Already previously sold one of them for about $23.50 a month or so ago. One more of them to go of that set. For a $10 investments, it's really paying off. Also sold another small Vera of a different pattern for $24.50.

Thank you so much for your comments. DH and I are reaching our limit. We had to drive to the ranch in south Texas today and that was a nice change. Took us the whole day to feel a little better. It's spring here, almost hot already.

Actually, we're going to Gulf Shores, Alabama - not quite as far as Florida. But it's close to the FL panhandle (Pensacola). It's right on the Gulf of Mexico. :) It won't be *hot* there this time of year, but it will be nice. :)

I've tried a few times to post and keep getting taken away.

Miss Hattie- B sure thinks of ways to get herself in trouble doesn't she. does she like working with her hands? Are there things she could do to "create" something. I"m trying to think of things but can't oh lets see....clay, something like a model car but do they have things besides that, artist chalk. Would she take better care of it if it was hers and she thought it was expensive or classy, not just chalk but "artists: chalk. I'd say paint and some canvas but I'm afraid of where the paint would end up! something to constantly keep that brain busy!!

Yes I'm happy DH helped me clean the car. And Ad I normally wouldn't have been mad because YES it would have given me time upstairs to scrapbook and thats why I don't care if he leaves. But it was 7:30, I was making supper and he walks in the door, "How mad would you be if I left. SO and so just called" I told him to prove it to me and show me the History on his phone, he couldn't. He then said, "So and so wants the guys to go out either Wed/Thurs for a few hours". So why didn't you tell me that, why did you lie. So then we have this huge fight and he leaves and then calls to say, "I've been thinking about it and I'm just going to wash my truck and come home' Well he didn't he still went to the bar and his "hour" turned into 3 1/2.
So guess I'm mad because he lied twice and acted like if I would be mad he would stay home but he was going anyway. So why ask me that. I was just Hit with it, blind sided and it threw me off. Plus we had an arguement over the weekend that was big and add that to the mix.

So I'm on my way home now. No, church first, then home.

Weather SUCKS. Very slooshy rain/snow mix, what a mess. Our 32" had melted and it's white again.

I just finished my part of the taxes, my appointment is this Sunday and they are finally done.

Lyn - yea on going to Florida, that is a nice break. yes my dear this virus or many virus' are really kicking butt this year. Kat - I am like you in the morning, can chat, eat, sing or whatever as soon as my feet hit the floor, I am such a morning person. Ad - weird about the blood pressure, hope it clears real soon. LOL, I knew you would put off doing those squares, that is quite a job and probably not any fun.

My back today for some reason is just plain pissy, even with my darvocet, who knows why. But I did email the pain dr. and told him I didn't want a return visit but needed something done for my back. His office called and I am having a procedure next week to help with the pain until something else can be figured out.

Time to get a few errands done, talk to you later

Still haven't gotten my usual energy back after that bout with the virus from hell the other day - not much left in the way of symptoms, just some coughing. But, sheesh - went to Walmart this morning, and I was so tired when I got home. Of course, I must have walked a hundred miles in that store getting everything I needed. :rolleyes:

Next week is my DH's spring break (at the college where he teaches). So he, and I and DS are heading south for the week - yay! :cool: We're driving - leaving tomorrow after he gets home from his last class. I might be away from here for a few days, but I should have internet access some of the time, so I'll try to stop in and say hey. :)

I don't feel like moving too much, but I've got a lot to do before we leave tomorrow, so I'd better shake a leg. Have a great evening!

Kat -- somehow i can't picture your mother being afraid of anything. ~~ yesterday you mentioned that your DH isn't a morning person.... welcome to my world with all of my kids like that. i can't say a word to any of them within an hour of them waking up. they take after their weird father. i'm totally the opposite.

Tammy -- i don't understand why you got angry at your DH for going out with the guys. did i miss something? was it because you were in the middle of cooking dinner for you guys? you should have been happy to have him out of the house for some hours so you could go upstairs and scrapbook. no?


egads !!! what have i gotten myself into with all these granny squares? i'm just taking a few days off from that project and then i'll pick it up with more enthusiasm. i have till the end of March to finish it. plenty of time. in the meantime i've started my niece's baby blanket. i love the yarn that i'm using for it. so soft and real nice pastel colors.

i'd better go figure out what to eat right now. i've been having some strange plunges in my blood pressure these days. i have no idea what it's about. i'm fine then BAM !! i feel really weak all of a sudden. i'm trying to keep it at bay by eating a bit every few hours, like a newborn.

Yipee, it is my free Thursday!!!!!! So I had canceled my tax appointment last week because I was sick and it was a good thing because I discovered I forgot to do a few things, so that is on tap today :( Brain is really getting mushy!

Today is GS's 13th birthday and we are all going to HIS favorite restaurant Red Robin, that should be fun except the munchkin's attention span is that of about 5 minutes! :rolleyes:

Have a few errands to run but not doing anything major, just trying to get over this virus. So the Ped group above us at work, says they are swamped with this virus, going into a URI (as I raise my hand in the air). At least I don't feel like the only one on the planet who has it :D

Kat - when you have such winds, does that mean a storm is coming?
Gina - almost there, hand in and it will be over soon
Cate - 1/2 way there, spring is coming and then everything will be done
Diane - what does the dr. say about your feet?
Elaine - what fun...bowling, haven't done that in years and now I am not sure I can

Hi Cate! Thanks for getting the board started today. Is this the final leg of all your remodeling?

I'm sleepy and my back hurts. It's cloudy and we're expecting thunderstorms this afternoon. They claim they won't be severe --- but is this the same system that unleashed a tornado in Arkansas? Brooklynn stole my favorite chapstick and lied about it this morning. She got into my white-out and drew designs on her leg. I have to work this afternoon on my feet the whole time. So all in all, my day is having a rather bleek outlook. :(

Since I got cancelled for work yesterday, I took the opportunity to take B in for her shots so I got that accomplished. Although she wasn't real happy.

Kat, today is another day for half price auction style listings on ebay! I'm going to do mine after I get home tonight from work. I think more people are online in the evening so that's when I prefer to have most of my auction styles end.

Ah, time for Gina's surgery already? Couldn't remember if it was the 12th or the 15th. Good luck! You'll feel better and be glad when it's all over.

Thought I'd pop on for a sec. I haven't been around much lately - construction is a marathon! I'm teetering on the edge of exhaustion, very close to falling off and just collapsing :(

We're about halfway through, though, so I just have to hang on for another 2 weeks and this phase will be done. And the contractor we're working with is great.

Ann, I hope all is going as well as it can.

Gina, my thoughts and prayers are with you tomorrow. May it go smoothly - it'll be such a relief when it's over!
