I only have one item up right now since my 2 pewter porringer bowls sold this morning on a "Buy It Now" feature. (I just listed them last night!) I wanted to get my chore list done before listing more items, but I might work at the eBay thing this evening awhile. I can't sell things if I don't get them listed!

My listings can be found via Dianne1923. If you add me to your "Favorite Sellers" on ebay, you can find my items whenever you want to.

can you please point me in the direction of the items you have up on eBay now?

thanks ever so much, dear woman (i'm in my British-mystery-movide-mode right now ;) )

It sounds like she plans to open a store but you might suggest they try it freestyle first for a couple of months, at least. Even for a basic store they charge you $15 or 16 a month alone, without the other fees.

I'll buy and sell anything I think can make me more money. I have been trying to stay clear of glass items because of breakage or future crazing but sometimes I see something special at a yard sale or at Goodwill that I buy it anyway. I also have lots of vintage jewelry but haven't been able to get good pictures that close up with my camera yet so haven't been selling that. I also try to buy items that will be easy to ship and not too costly to ship. That means smaller and lighter weight items.

i'm not really quite sure if my daughter and her business partner are opening up a store or what. i have to work on a webpage for her though. does that mean anything different?

they are going to be selling all kinds of digital/electronic stuff. i haven't really read the content that she sent me yesterday. i'm still waiting for the pics before i get into the whole thing.

she says that she has a good friend that makes a very good living off of eBay. he has his whole garage dedicated to the business. she said that he sells everything. i don't really know what that means, but she insists that it's anything and everything :D

i'm very much interested in the whole thing now and i'll be checking it all our over the weekend. i don't have the time or energy to do it until then.

thanks for all of your information. i appreciate it :)

Yes! Often things don't sell the first time..... or second or third. Some things I've never been able to sell. But I've made good profits on many other items. But you still have listing fees even if they don't sell. Some items I've given up on and they'll head for my garage sale!

I don't sell to overseas markets, just in the U.S. It saves me some hassles, however, I may miss some sales. But they just started charging extra now for each country you want to advertise in. People are complaining, but it doesn't affect me anyway.

Is your daughter opening an eBay store? Has she been selling on eBay long? Usually it's not profitable to open a store unless you have some good eBay experience and LOTS of stuff ready to sell..... dozens of stuff! Some people say hundreds.

I don't have a store, I just sell outright. Ebay takes more of your profit when you have a store. About 4 1/2 per cent more, I think.

Adriana, last fall I started dabbling on selling on eBay. this is so interesting because later last night my daughter called me asking for my help with an HTML page for eBay. of course i asked "what page for eBay"? she emailed me the page that she had done and it was for electronic products that she and her business partner are selling on eBay. i called her up even later at night and asked her all about the eBay selling thing. she explained it to me just like you have. i find it quite interesting and i'm going to be looking into it over the weekend. i'm also going to make their eBay web page tonight. something simple, but elegant. i'm just waiting for the pics that i need to place on the page.

except for this slow time, have you had a good experience with the selling?

But at least I'm not moaning!

Went down to the garden today and pulled some weeds. Ann, I think you asked about fire ants a while back - well, we don't have them here, thank goodness! I think they like warm climates. My MIL used to have a place in Florida, and there were a lot of them there. Anyway - back to the garden - the tomato plants look great - they have some green tomatoes on them, and the zucchini plants have some small zucchini that are just getting started. I picked a whole huge bunch of garden lettuce and greens - wish I could share! :)

I'll take a bag of lettuce down to my son and DIL tomorrow. DH and I are headed down to Indy tomorrow to help out since Dana is having her brain MRI. I'll go with her to the imaging center and Grandpa will stay with the kids (his choice!). I'll get a chance to play with the kids too, before we head back home. :) I've been missing my grandson a lot after spending a whole week with him when we went to Gulf Shores. And baby Jenna is four months old now - she's ready to start on rice cereal!

Carol, my fantasy pitcher (and the Red Sox) lost last night in extra innings, however my pitcher did get 6 points (strikeouts), and my team did get another win last week. And yes, I'm still in first place! :D  It is so cool having a winning team (unlike previous years).

Kat, some day I'd like to go to Oregon and see all beautiful gardens that one hears about in that part of the country.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday!

I'm finding that I'm sitting around eating a lot more with Brooklynn gone. She usually keeps me up and running burning those calories with less and less time to actually eat.

Adriana, last fall I started dabbling on selling on eBay. Since my hours were cut down from my previous assignment back then and I had to sometimes turn down work hours because of having no sitter, I had decided to try making money on eBay. I figured if I have to stay home part of the time, I could at least be trying to make some money from home during that time. So I buy at garage sales, auctions and other online auctions items I think I can make money on by selling high on eBay. Right now I have tons of stuff to photograph and make listings for. My home has been overrun with packaging supplies and boxes of stock items to sell. But it's a slow time on ebay right now so I haven't been listing quite as much. I need to get busy on it though coz I like to keep at least 5-10 items listed at all times. As of last evening, I have zip! I found my software for my new camera so will get that installed today.

Carol -- ourmodiin.co.il is my very own community website, in English. there are lots of sites in Hebrew, but not a one in English. i used to have a site some years ago, really the very first one in the area. it was in both languages, but my business partner and i split up when she wanted to merge with two idiots that i don't like. their new site is not going so well, as far as advertising. the problem is that the marketing idiot is just that, an idiot and most people don't like him at all. it's very hard to get advertisers when the front man is not personable. my dream is to get the English site back up and be as strong as ever. i love the work, the HTML, the graphics, dealing with people, etc. so.... it's just a matter of time when God tells me to "just do it" !

Miss H -- that is so sweet of Brooklyn ! i'm sure she misses you quite a lot. when does she come back home? what is it that you do with eBay, i think i missed out on something about that whole thing.

Kat -- your mother is so hysterical !! i'm always LOL at her antics. thanks for sharing these stories with us. i think you're right about the dragonfly. i think that in Chinese culture it's considered good luck. i love them !!

i'm so frustrated right now that i feel like just getting up from the computer and calling it a day. i can't reach anyone, i can't confirm email address, i can't do anything. well... i DID get an order early this morning. and i have one cooking. hopefully the pot that is on low simmer will place an order soon, just to keep my spirits high.

i'm sorry that i'm whining here, but i'm just so confused about what to do with myself that i might be getting signs that i'm just not reading.

moan of the day: i didn't make it to the pool because i didn't sleep well because of all the phone calls since 7am  for Heaven's sake, who in the world thinks that we're up at that hour !!

nothing much planned for me except praying that the afternoon/evening will go better with work.

have a great day everyone !!!

Carol - the Salem city council would like everyone to think Salem is a tourist destination. The locals joke that we're only an hour from anyplace interesting = beach, mountains, Portland, Eugene. :) Salem proper has the Bush Park Art Fair (coming up in two weeks), Marion County Fair (this week), State Fair (end of August), the Capitol building, lots of parks, some historic mansions, Minto-Brown Island Wildlife Refuge, etc. The surrounding area is teeming with vinyards and specialty nurseries. Pete and I often go nursery-hopping on the weekends.

Good morning

We have sunshine and a lot of hungry birds today. The forecast is 88, which isn't bad. Yesterday afternoon, I went over to Mom's and helped her remove the dirt and weeds from an old cast-iron cauldron behind her garage. It's about 100 years old, and split down one side. Mom wants to "recycle" it, so we knelt around it and chipped away with our trowels. At one point, Mom stood to stretch, then bent over to pull some weeds. A very large black dragonfly swooped down from a tree and landed on her backside. I lost it. :D "Mom! There's a dragonfly on your butt!" "What?!" Still bent over, she started laughing and said, "He'd better not bite me!" It stayed for about a minute, then flew to her garden cart. I said, "You know, in some cultures, that's probably a sign of good luck!" Mom just laughed and shook her finger at the dragonfly. "You stay there, you hear?"

We're easily amused, I know. :)

No solid plans for the day, just doing what I can do without straining my belly. It's pretty sore. I see the surgeon on Wednesday, so holding on till then.

Have a great day ~

Carol, there may be a prescription ointment you can put on that and you use so little of it at a time that one little tube would last a long time. Check with your doc. There are also some medicated over the counter and not as helpful ointments out there, too. Browse through the aisle at the store. I think lip gloss may actually hinder the healing.

Yes, I agree I need a second set of sheets. They're pretty expensive though so need to watch for a sale. Why the sweatdown? Well, could have been low blood sugar (I got up and ate something without checking the numbers... just thought I'd fix it) or maybe just the usual menopausal sweats. Don't really know.

I have to go to Goodwill today to pick up my auction items for eBay. I overdid a bit the past couple of weeks. Sometimes I get carried away with the bidding! Where am I going to store all that stuff???

Since I got my computer overhauled I have to reinstall my digital camera software --- and can't find it! I can't download pix for ebay without it. Will be scrambling to find that today.

No other plans today except housework. I called Brooklynn last night and she seemed a little sad. I thought telling her that we got the lake cottage would be exciting news but she seemed a little down. Her other grandma said she thinks she's homesick. Gee, homesick from me? I was touched. Bless her little heart. I miss her, too.

Ad- what type of company is "ourmodiin co"? Did read your blog and if it is true that the company is in financial trouble then it goes to reason they need sales. :D Mad cow at bay - I like that quote!!!!
Dianne - do you know what caused the massive sweatdown? Think you need another set of sheets, it isn't any fun to get caught like that :(
Kat- You are right, I don't have cats. Love that Woody would fall asleep in his food bowl ;) Oregon garden sure sounds nice, Salem has so much going on, is it a tourist city?
Ann- I agree with you about OA, went years ago and found that it wasn't for me. From what I understand you can't take a tape and convert it to a DVD. Now if you have "still pictures" then you can but not movies. I have a "combo" type - has both VCR and DVD in the same unit (2 different slots)
Lyn - How did your fantasy pitcher do last night and are you still in 1st place?
Deb - Are you back yet?????

Good morning to all,

Where did the weekend go  Did spend a restful day!!!!!!!!!! I even read my book for club which was 357 pages, good thing I can speed read :p

Have a long week ahead with the OM, still out and another receptionist on vacation. Hopefully I won't need to step in and settle down some patients who seem to think they can yell and be down right mean to the receptionist. Some patients are really rude and I have evicted a few of them out of the office.

Tonight nothing planned and right now not even dinner, don't feel like cooking or doing anything at 7:00am

I continue to take my medicine and get better. But  I have 2 cold sores (which I NEVER get) and don't know quite what to do about them. I just have lip gloss on them at all time. Any suggestions?

Well I better start to kick it into gear.

Make it a good one

Carol
