I am trying to figure out the whole meal plan thing. I certainly don't overeat, if anything I don't eat enough. I am trying to be better about eating three small meals, and healthy snacks. I am one to skip breakfast, slimfast for lunch, then eat dinner, not much else. We don't keep junk food, sodas, snacks, etc. at home. We do eat out a lot, but not fast food. I am sure that the weight is a result of just naturally slowing metabolism, very little exercise, and the meds. I have an appt. to speak with my Dr. and also trying to get on a regular exercise schedule. This is all so new to me. Up until a year - year 1/2 ago I did not have to worry about my weight so I feel really lost and frustrated.

Thanks for the help.

A few things that can help:
gradually increase exercise to a minimum of 3 hours per week (discuss with physician if starting a new program)
Eat breakfast on a regular basis. It can kick start our metabolism and is an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle
I would focus on more "foods" for lunch versus a slim fast (sandwich on whole wheat bread, yogurt, fruit, etc. - just some ideas.
3 meals and 2-3 snacks per day or 4-5 'mini-meals' is also good for your metabolism
Good luck!

I've been on Paxil for almost two years and heard this could be part of my weight gain. Is there anything special I should consider when trying to loose weight. I have never had to diet or worry about this before so I am so clueless.

Thanks.

Some antidepressents can cause issues with weight gain. I would recommend that you also discuss this with your physician. Keeping up a regular exercise routine can help or adding some strength training if you don't already do so. What does your current meal plan look like?
