Great question! I would aim for about 50% carbs/ 30% fat and 20% protein. These are healthy recommendations that have been around for a long period of time. It is recommended to keep saturated fat to less than 8-10% and focus on your fat coming from the poly and mono-unsaturated fats such as those found in nuts/seeds/avocados/olive, canola, peanut, etc. oils.

With the latest news from AHA about Mediterranean-style diet, there are bound to be lots of questions about how to convert the DietWatch plans somewhat in that direction. I saw that the Med Diet recommends 30% daily calories be from fat, but less than 8% from saturated fat. There seem to be more carbs, less protein, too. What percentages could I enter for carbs and protein re my daily calorie load to follow their recommendations?
Thanks for your ready help!!
