Hi! 600-700 calories is not enough food and will hinder any weight loss efforts. This can also lead to a loss of lean muscle mass and not fat mass. I strongly recommend aimng for at least 1200 calories per day!

I am very closely monitoring my intake, measuring portions so that I can input acurately and see just how many calories, fiber, protein and fat I am consuming. I can tell you that I don't get to 1200 calories even once during a week. My average is about 600-700 calories per day. I should qualify that I am eating healthy sized portions of fresh fruits, veggies, grains and vegetarian protein. I rarely feel hungry or unsatisfied. I eat until I am comfortably full. I don't eat processed food and try to eat things as close to their natural state as possible. I also do exercise moderately, 3-4 times per week....usually pilates or strength building activities.

Does this info help?

Thanks for the question! Don't go under 1200 calories and you may be better at 1500-1600 depending on your activity level. If we consume too few calories than our body needs, it can slow our metabolism and deter our weight loss efforts. Are you monitoring your intake closely? How do you feel you don't consume enough right now? Let me know so I can try and help more!

How much of a calorie defecit can you show on a regular basis without running the risk of going into starvation mode and eventually gaining weight? I have trouble getting up to my daily calorie requirement sometimes and I wonder if my weight loss is being hindered as a result.

Thanks!
