For years eggs have been slammed for being too high in fat and cholesterol. Eggs do contain about 213 milligrams of cholesterol each and the American Heart Association recommends limiting daily cholesterol intake from foods to 300 milligrams.
If you limit the saturated fat and cholesterol from other foods like meat, poultry, high fat dairy and some baked goods, you can enjoy up to one egg each day.
A great source of protein, vitamins and minerals and only 70 calories a pop, eggs are a tasty and inexpensive ways to add nutrients to your diet. To avoid adding extra fat, cook eggs in a nonstick skillet and leave out half the yolks.
