When I was in Anchorage I went to O'Brady's @ Dimond Center Mall for lunch a couple of times. They got great buffalo wings that only clock out about 4 carbs for 16 of them. I'd drop in, have wings and a salad then go walk the mall for an hour. This was right after I got my pedometer and it was a cool way to add steps, get a good meal and see all the new stuff I missed in the village....and NO...I never looked at the pretty girls.... http://boards.dietwatch.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Instead of meeting a friend for coffee or lunch, meet for a walk instead. You'll still be able to catch up with each other, and get some exercise while you do it.

A 225-pound woman will burn 222 calories walking for 30 minutes at a more casual pace as if you were walking a dog. Walk faster, burn more. Weigh more, burn more.

You and your friend can always grab a cup of coffee or a light bite to eat after your walk, knowing that you've earned it.
