Boy thanks for that little tip. Just wish I knew in advance which readings I'd not want in the average. Guess I'll just keep having them all in the average.

Meter Tip/Trick: For those of you using the one touch ultra. If you want to check your blood sugar at close intervals immediately following a meal but don't want to mess up the recorded average on your meter you can press "C" after the flashing drop of blood appears and the meter will go into control mode and exclude the reading from any cumulative operations it performs.

Long ago, in a land far, far away I found myself on the road to recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. I joined a group called AA. One of the basic tenants practiced by the members is that recovery is fostered, enhanced and attained in part by the members sharing their experience, strength and hope. It worked 14 years ago for me and so many others I know and is still working today. Although I am no longer active in the program I am still clean and sober and to this day practice many of the things I learned during that early exposure. The villians may change but support is still support and recovery is still recovery...I don't intend to just fight the good fight and be content to extend my life expectancy or the time when serious complications set in. I intend to wage all out war on this sonuvabitch and WIN. I love your motto MsH...it is elegant in it's simplicity and could become the battle cry for diabetics every where.

Well, lately I've been testing 1-3 times per day, but previously I was horrid..... maybe once a month or not even THAT often!
When you arrived on the board checking your sugars so often and being so motivated to control your diabetes, you fanned a flame within me that had dwindled to a mere flicker and was in danger of dying out. Your enthusiasm is contagious and I'm feeling so encouraged and determined again! I thank you for that.
I've always tried to encourage others to continually speak up, ask questions, post, share and respond to support one another on the board. When people see others getting involved and doing well or having some degree of success, it's motivating!!!! The trick is to find a way to pull everyone out of their shell. Something seems to be working! http://boards.dietwatch.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I feel our board has new life and new hope for what it can do for all of us. It takes teamwork .... a village ..... everyone participating and jumping in to provide input in their own special way. Our Diabetes Board is becoming a really great place to be!
