I think he told me I'd have to undergo some additional lab tests to check my kidneys and some other functions (paid for by the study) and I'd have to pass those tests, too, to be accepted into the study.

The nurse who called me didn't seem to know anything for sure. Just that the doc wanted me to come in on Friday to talk to him and to encourage me to particpate in the study.

That's exactly the schedule I'm on. Doc started me at 18uL and I increased the dosage by 2u a day until I started getting the good FBS's. The only thing I eat after my glargine shot at night it protein, which doesn't seem to affect the morning read. I'm very interested in your new study..do you know if you're in yet or do they just want to yak-yak..??

I really don't know for sure. I DO know the doc thinks Lantus is wonderful and mentioned taking a dose in the evening which lasts for 24 hours.

MsH...since this is a lantus study does that mean you will start injecting the slow release lantus once a day and use a rapid insulin pre meal..??
