I'm more familiar with the purpose for Chromium Picolinate but had not heard of the other. I'm taking a mutivitamin/multimineral dietary supplement that's formulated for active adults (Member's Mark Advanced Multi with Lycopene) which contains 200 mcg of Chromium (which I think is the same or about the same as Chr. Picolinate.

As in all mineral and herbal supplements, you should check with your physician before taking them. There could be unwanted interactions
with your current medications or disease process. I handed my doctor my bottle I had purchased and he looked it over and okayed it for me.

Chromium HCA is a natural non-stimulant formula that combines chromium picolinate with hydroxy citric acid (HCA). HCA is a safe, natural citric acid extract from the dried fruit of the Garcinia cambogia plant. This fruit is native to India and Asia, where it has a centuries-old tradition for use in food preparation and preservation. HCA does not affect the central nervous system or have any known side effects.

Experts theorize that HCA may help reduce the synthesis of fat in the body. When the body takes in more calories than it needs to meet its energy demands, ATP-citrate lyase is the enzyme responsible for creating acetyl-CoA from citrate, which is then used in fatty acid synthesis. HCA binds to ATP-citrate lyase and blocks the enzyme from making the fat-producing acetyl CoA.

Appetite is controlled in part by nerve messages sent from the liver to the brain. Researchers believe that HCA may also influence appetite by increasing liver glycogen (stored glucose) levels, which in turn triggers the satiety (fullness) center of the brain.

Chromium picolinate is a combination of the trace mineral chromium and picolinic acid. Studies suggest that 200 to 400 mcg of chromium picolinate daily decreases fat mass, percent body fat, and scale weight.† Researchers theorize that chromium picolinate triggers the release of proper amounts of insulin into the bloodstream. Maintaining and moderating blood sugar directly affects glucose metabolism, because insulin accelerates the transport of glucose into the cell, making it available for energy production. Insulin helps the body maintain the proper nutritional balance of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and cholesterol. This balance promotes a healthier, leaner body.

Chromium HCA supports the body's ability to:

Inhibit the production and storage of fat
Promote healthy blood sugar levels
Promote healthy changes in body composition*
Other benefits of supplementing Chromium HCA may include:

Possible decreased risk of coronary artery disease

Improved diabetic health

Lower cholesterol

Lower triglycerides

Hypoglycemia support: improves symptoms and binds insulin to red blood cells

HCA does not affect the central nervous system or have any known side effects. Try this safe weight loss supplement today!

Never heard that term. What does HCA stand for?

I'm going to be sure to take my vitamin supplement EVERY day. Currently I would only take it 3-5 times per week. I also take 2 Alka-Mints daily for added calcium. It's similar to Tums, but tastes better. (One carb gram for 2 tablets.)

Ladies..... think about taking a calcium supplement to help ward off osteoporosis!
