Choose bread, cereal and pasta products made predominantly from whole grains. In addition to vitamins and fiber, whole grains contain beneficial nutrients that help reduce your risk of diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

Try whole-wheat pasta, brown or wild rice, and focus on cereals that contain at least 3 grams of dietary fiber per serving. Check the labels on "wheat bread," and choose loaves that are either 100-percent whole-wheat or that have at least 3 grams of fiber per slice.
