So that leaves me approx. 450 per meal for the rest of the day...I can live with that. Thank you...I would NEVER, EVER have figured this out for myself. It's the lazy brain syndrome... http://boards.dietwatch.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Keeping track of your food helps you visualize just how many calories you truly are consuming. When people estimate and keep track mentally and THEN start writing it down, they're usually flabbergasted to learn how many calories they actually had been eating. Hmmmm...... and they were wondering why they couldn't lose weight.
We'll start with the "new" feature tonight then with "Our Tuesday Accountability Menu" unless someone has a better title. We'll see how it goes.
IceMan, your clementine was about 50 calories (did you see my post for you on that in this thread?), a slice of bread usually around 70, and oleo and peanut butter are typically each around 90 calories per tablespoon. So you may have been closer to 250-300.

I do not use the meal plan but actually post what I eat during the day. Some days its a challenge because I sometimes have to approximate the meal when the data base does not include the meal or I no not have the details to add or define a new recipe.

I can do that...count me in.
I'm just guessing, but the toast w/ butter/peanut butter and clementine are probably less than 200 calories. My one hour post prandial BGL was 145.

Just wondering if you or anyone else might be interested in this ..... It's a variation of what you (IceMan) have been doing now. We used to have a topic post each evening where we would post our foods that we actually ate that day. Not our plans for tomorrow, but what we actually consumed today. We would post it after we had our final meal or snack for the day.
Everyone's thoughts?
But that means more people need to start writing down on paper what they actually ate. And that's a good thing! But it takes a bit of time and extra effort.

ManMilk is brought to you by my grand daughter, Kalin. She's my little helper and she stirs while I measure and pour the Milk Man powdered non-fat dry milk into the pitcher...she calls it ManMilk instead of Milk Man (don't ask, I'm as clueless as everyone else).... and now, so do I.... http://boards.dietwatch.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I thought about counting all that crap...and then decided that as long as I felt good, wasn't leaving the table hungry or starving between meals, my urine was a healthy color, I continued to post modest weekly weight losses and the rest of my hair didn't fall out what was the use. I did tally the calories once and it's less than 1200 and more than a 1000 on any given day. Carbs for breakfast this morning were about 20-23...I ended up eating a clementine instead of the bananna and no ManMilk. It's easy to see the calories in the toast...but how about a clementine...I have no idea... http://boards.dietwatch.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Have you considered actually tallying up your calorie counts so you know where you stand? Perhaps at least try it for a couple of days? Maybe count your carb grams, too, while you're at it. (If you do, don't forget to add any sauce you might have with your prawns!) You'll want to make sure you're not shortchanging yourself on overall energy! Too many days of that in a row and your body will not be in optimal health!
You and your asparagus......Yuk!!!
