Hi, I am Jenye and I live in Australia. I was born in Hampton, Victoria a suburb of Melbourne. I married when I was 18 years to a boy I had known since I was 7yrs old I met him at Sunday School. We were married 43 years ago, next month and are still together. We have 3 children Donna, Martin and Gareth and as yet no grandchildren.
We have shifted around a fair bit having always been here in Victoria but we are now settled in Pakenham, an outer rural come encroaching suburb of Melbourne.
I am retired now having been a nurse and midwife, but that was cut short when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Now all my loves of tennis, golf and all sports have been changed into a love of gardening, craft work (especially spinning) and cooking (just love food). I found CD in 2001 and it suited what I needed and I have made some really good friends whilst there.
Take care all,
Jenye. http://boards.dietwatch.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well, I'm beginning to wonder who I am? I posted this once before, but somehow the details are missing from the boards, so I will post them once again just to be part of the continuing list.
My name is Susan and I'm nearly 59. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am a native Californian and grew up in the Los Angeles area where I met and married my high school sweet heart. We have been married for 40 years.
I have three grown children and two grandchildren. I also have 2 cats currently, but have had many over my lifetime.
I work in a school district where I am a program specialist for our Special Education preschool programs.
I have many hobbies, the primary one for the past several years is quilting.

I am Joanne. Born an only child, I always wanted to get married and have children, a family that sat down to the dinner table. My dad worked at night. My Grandma lived with us. I had just a wonderful and kind family.
I got married at age 27, to a doctor's son. We had a big wedding, and lots and lots of gifts.
My Mom was having a ball seeing all those presents come to the house.
I have 3 children. My oldest daughter is an account and works in a high rise down town.
My second daughter has a biology degree, and works as a Manager of a Lab at Children's Hospital. She makes really good money!! She is researching Asthma. My baby boy is grown now and is 26 yrs. old. He has Epilepsy, that started when he was 17. Sure came as a surprise to me. He is at home with me. I love it! So much company. He has a gift to gab.
My husband died of cancer at the age or 41. My kids were only 7, 10, & 11. I raised them on my own. At one point my Dad was in the hospital with a heart problem and my husband had just been given a 5% chance of living, and I called my Mom to tell her that I was going to the Hospital for my dad's surgery, and she did not answer, and we found she had died. This all happened within 3 weeks. Sure was a life changing time in my life.
I had to go back to work after 14 years, and deceided I needed to lose the weight first. Went to WW and lost 65 lbs. and got to goal weight. I started working for them as a leader, and after Bill died, they first made me a secretary, but with in 6 months I had gone to Assistant Manager, to Manager. The first Christmas after Bill died, on Christmas Eve, WW gave me a new Company Car. I was really blessed at the time, and had a lot of support from WW. I did finally gain my weight back ( it was a lot of stress on me trying to care for my home and kids, and a business here) and they did fire me. It was a big blow, and I was devestated by this. After that I drifted from job to job until I started working in a doctors office. I hated the job, and because my son needed me at home, I retired. My bigest problem with this is no health insurance. I will be so glad to be 65 and have Medicare.
I might mention that when I learned Bill was dying, I sat down and asked myself, if I could work at any job I wanted, what would I do. My answer was to work with overweight people. I dismissed this as non sense, and did not think of it again, until I was working at WW. I feel like God really blessed me, and answered my prayers. I really felt like I was where I was suppose to be at the time.
I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Maggie is black, and fat, and has short legs. My daugher found her in a parking lot and brought her home. We could not find the owners, so we kept her. Tanner is larger, about 55 lbs, is a chow mix, and has lots and lots of hair. We saw him at Pet Smart, and thought he belonged to some one, as he was on a leash. We fell in love with him, he was just a big fur ball. As it was he was up for adoption, and we took him home that day. My cats are really my daughters, that she left with me.
I live in Southern Ohio. Love the warm months, and hate the cold ones.
I will be 62 on June 3rd. I love to paint, and find it so relaxing. If I am not painting I am drawing, or taking pictures of things to paint.
I have a butterfly quilt started, and work on it in spirts. I love planting flowers and watching them grow. I like to collect pretty rocks. I love to cook and try new recipes. One of my hobbies is making a cookbook.
I started on Cyberdiet in Feb. of 2002. Lost 25 lbs, and then came Christmas, and gained a lot back, but not all. I was so bored being at home all the time for my son, that it was just soooooo great to have all of these people to talk to!! Most things in life have their ups and downs, and so has this site, but still love to be here. We will survive! My daughter is getting married on Sept. 6th of this year, and I just want to lose some for that!

I, actually, was not born in W Va, like I said, but in New York City. I was moved there at 3 weeks old, due to adventurous parents. I grew up in Huntington. Great place to grow up. We didn't need to lock the doors.
BTW, what does DH mean--dear husband???

I live in Toronto, Ontario. I was born in Edmonton Alberta. Since I was a kid, we have lived in Fort Simpson, (North West Territories), Winnipeg (Manitoba), and we have travelled from coast to coast. The only territories that I've not been to are The Yukon & Nunavit.
We moved around quite a lot when I was a kid. Other than in Toronto, the longest we lived anywhere was in Winnipeg. We lived there for ~ eight years, though not all in the same part of the city. That’s where I feel I grew up as I turned seven shortly after we got there & moved to Toronto just after my sixteenth birthday.
I met DH in my living room when I was 21, at the time he was working with my stepfather. They got along fine until we started dating & my stepfathers (over) protective instincts kicked in.
We married in Feb ‘75 & our son was born in Dec ’75 (a proximity that had a few people counting on their fingers LOL).
We have one son who is now married & a father himself. (The time does go by). I’ll be 50 this year & one of my motivations for becoming more fit & healthy is so that I’ll be around to enjoy my grandson as he grows up. He’s such a precious little fellow, & is such a character already that I really want to see how he grows into a man.
I spent 2 days with my DIL when she came home from the hospital with him & they are precious memories indeed. Holding him & talking to him at that early age is something that I will always treasure. After that her Mom had arrived from the west coast to help out for a couple of weeks, so I let her have her turn. After all I’d had his first two days & she lives so far away that she needed all she could get to hold her till the next visit.
I’m Regulatory Affairs Manager for a large food company & I find my work challenging and exciting (although just a little too busy these days). I’m looking forward to the next stage in my life when I graduate out of the work force into my full time life.

Hello, some information about me:
My name is Carol and I live in Fountain Valley, CA. Even though the name has valley in it, we aren't anywhere near "the valley", I live in a coastal city about 3 miles from the ocean.
I was born and raised in Detroit, MI but in lived in Ann Arbor for 20 years - go Blue!! I have lived in CA since 1991.
I have 1 brother and 2 daughters and 1 ex-husband and 1 domestic partner - Bill who I have been with for 12 years. We do not have any pets.
Bill is retired but I am working about 50hrs/wk. Many years ago I taught junior high but have worked in the health field the last 20 years, I am: Chief Operations Officer for a group of Md's & Od's. I turned 60 last Sept. but plan on working till 70 (hopefully), unless I win the Lotto and then "I'm gone".
For relaxing I read, read, read, have started a few book clubs but now I don't have the time. I belong to "Linda Evans" gym and go there whenever I can. Bill and I like to walk on the beach usually on the weekends. I used to knit when I lived in Mich. but find it is to hot to have some yarn on my lap but I do miss it. I don't have much time for other creative outlets.

Okay, Here goes for me.
I live in Colorado in the foot hills of the Colorful Colorado Rocky Mountains. I was born in Denver and raised in Denver but have lived in California, Alabama and Maryland as well.
I have three younger sisters, Bea, Sue and Betty. Bea and Betty live in Terre Haute, IN and Sue is in Denver. Mom passed away 2 1/2 years ago. I was her caretaker and she was sick for a long time. It's been hard getting over the loss. I guess I'll never get over it but at least it is not in the forefront of my mind all the time anymore. I was never close to my real father but he's gone too and my stepfather died way back -- 1960.
My four children and two stepchildren have given me 17 grandchildren with ages ranging from 26 - 4. The 4 y/o's are twin boys and as full of life as you can get. My children and grandchildren are spread across the country from San Diego to Fort Lauderdale and from Rapid City to Granby, CO. I have only my son and two grandchildren here close. The Granby ones I get to see about once a month.
No pets at this time but have had a menagerie over time.
I am retired now. An auto accident in 1988 put me in a situation where I couldn't do heavy work anymore so I took an early retirement from the quality print shop where I worked. I take care of twin babies two days a week now. I love the job and the money sure comes in handy.
I was married at age 18 then after 22 years, divorced; was single for 12 years before I married my DH, John. Only two years into our marriage he was diagnosed with leukemia. He passed away just before our 10th anniversary. We certainly took advantage of time together. We traveled far and wide. He loved taking his trips and I loved being with him on those trips. He was a good man and I was very fortunate to have been his wife.
For hobbies, I mostly play on my computer. I do like to embroidery, but I think my favorite pastime is to get together with friends and laugh and have a good time.

What a great idea Ainley it is so interesting reading these!! I feel my life is pretty boring compared to so many of you http://boards.dietwatch.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
I was born in the northern part of the land of 10,000 Lakes (Minnesota) and met my DH when we were both 16. We married Aug. 30, 1969 on his leave from the Air Force. Part of our honeymoon was our trip to California where we lived for four years at Marysville, Beale Air Force Base. These war times sure bring back memories for us, as he went overseas during Viet Nam war and I was alone in CA. quite often. Our oldest daughter Wendy was born there Sept. 14, 1971.
After his four year tour we came back to Minnesota and lived in just about every corner of this state. Finally settling here in the south central part where we have been since 1975.
In 1980 we lost our second child to premature birth. Our younger daughter Amanda was born in Oct. 1982. She is now in college and comes back and forth Fri-Mon and works here to pay her way through college.
My DH lost his 20 year job 8 years ago right to the anniversary date. He repairs major appliances and does refrigeration work. So we opened our own business based out of our home.
I've worked a lot of different jobs over my life time too. Mainly office, secretarial type work; but after Amanda was born I left to open a family day care and I did that up until the time we started this business.
We live on a small acreage (6 acres) just outside our city limits. We have had just about every four legged pet imaginable. We have two dogs, a 12 year old bichon named Andre' and a 5 year old Amerian Eskimo AJ. We also have two horses, as horses are my youngest daughters passion.
At one time I did a lot of volunteer work but now with the demands of our business I don't do too much any more, as this is pretty much 7 days a week for us as it is.
All our parents have passed away they were all gone before either of us turned 50; it took me a long time to accept the unfairness of it all. I wouldn't trade the ones I had for anything in the world though, I adored my Mother in law, and Father in law...and my parents too. We made the best of the time we had.
My hobbies are I love my computer http://boards.dietwatch.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif, I sew, can knit, crochet, embroider, I love to read, gardening.
I'll be 55 this June 16th. Hard to believe it...where on earth does time go!!!

wel you already know a bit about me.
The biggest part my hobby : the boat.
I live in Diemen (Holland) very near Amsterdam.
Ther lives another DW member Ms.Attitude that I sometimes met for a coffee or a lunch.
I'm retired as a preacher, minister or reverend I don't know how you call it.
I had three parishes and after my thesis (I studied while working) I went to work for the United Protestant Church in the educational part when I was 52. Because of reorganisation there I was moraly pressed to leave so younger ones could held there job.
They stil ask me for courses and seminairs and I'm often asked to do a service in the parishes I'have been with. So I'm only 70% retired.
I'm maried to Bram (for 34 years)Who has his own firm that makes pro-biotics. (He is 63 and only works half the time, that's why we have such very long summer hollidays)
We have two daughters. Hanneke died at the age of 19 by a bacterial sepsis. (in 1990)
Petra is maried to André. She is 30 years now.
My mother in law (91) and my parents (84 and 86) are still alive and need a big part of my attention. I now have the time to give it to them. And also to my brother who has Multiple System Atrophie (he can't walk, move or speak and get worser every week).
We have no animals.

It seems that so many of us watch CSI,and know that haunting theme music about "Who are you", I know once I hear it, it is in my head for days! and I thought Hey, there are so many new friends posting here, and I think it would be great if we all introduced ourselves, where we live, where we were born, how many siblings, children and or pets we have, just to get to know each other, whether we are retired, working, or anything that says, "Hi, I am here, and I want to know you, and this is me!" So WHOOO AAARRE YOUUUU?"
